Bahaman anoles live well together and with other similarly-sized, gentle reptiles or amphibians like house geckos, long-tailed lizards or green treefrogs. If housing multiple pets, watch for any aggressive or territorial behavior. They eat mostly live insects and are most active during the day. Green anoles eat small, live insects, like "gut loaded" (feed the insects a special supplement so they have extra nutrients) crickets, mealworms or waxworms.

Things to remember

Handling
Anoles move very quickly and should not be handled very much. Take care to never handle him by the tail - it could break off.

Environment
Bahaman anoles come from a tropical environment and need a warm, humid home.

Calcium dust
"Dust" the insects with a calcium supplement twice a week - ask a PetSmart associate for details.

Feeding amounts & frequency
Feed juveniles twice a day; adults 3-4 times a week. Offer an amount that can be consumed by the end of the day

Water
Provide a shallow dish for drinking water and change it daily. Mist all surfaces of the habitat daily to provide drinking water and maintain humidity.

Housing
Use a 10-gallon or larger, glass terrarium with a screen lid for proper ventilation.

Bedding
Line the terrarium floor with 2"- 3" of coconut fiber or bark bedding to help maintain humidity levels. Remove waste weekly and change bedding at least once a month.
